Stockbroker introduces software for investors

In response to the growing need for investors to access real-time information to help them make crucial decisions, Barclays Stockbrokers is introducing Investment ViewPoint, which it describes as a “unique and innovative” approach to its communications that uses ‘abacus' imagery to signpost each of its three investment approaches.

Research by Barclays Stockbrokers found 40 per cent of its investors make their investment decisions by researching the market, and the signpost technique allows investors to self-select which one of three ‘investor personalities' they feel most closely matches their investment goals. These are:

 * Cautious - investors who are risk averse and prefer their investments to be smooth and stable
