Intec Telecom flourishes under new leader

In January 2008, 38 year old Andrew Taylor was appointed chief executive of Intec Telecom Systems.

He came with an impressive CV: in 2004 he joined Lucent Technologies with responsibility to deliver significant improvements in revenue, margin and operational business and customer performance.

Over a two and a half year period he achieved a dramatic turnaround, almost tripling Lucent’s revenues in the region and winning significant new customer contracts.

The omens are good that he is going to achieve something impressive in his new job at Intec, which has just reported a stunning set of interim figures for the period to 31 March 2009.

On sales up 40 per cent to £80.3m, pre-tax profits have almost quadrupled to £8.6m while net cash has soared from £24.6m to £52.9m.
