SIPPs (Self Invested Personal Pensions) are our favourite type of personal pension. They give you significant control over your retirement fund at relatively low cost.
The costs attached to SIPPs, as well as the range of investments available, depend on the choice of a cheap online SIPP or an expensive full service SIPP. Most of our recommended SIPPs are the low cost variety.
The simplest pension plan around - and an alternative to a SIPP - is the stakeholder pension plan. These were designed to be low cost, portable pension plans, we list the plans we think offer the best options.
